Treatment Process

A controlled treatment with a clear purpose
Microneedling creates tiny, controlled channels in the skin. This activates the skin’s natural repair response and supports the gradual formation of new collagen.
But the treatment is not simply about going deeper. Your skin tone, barrier condition, sensitivity and the concern being treated all determine how we work. Every session is adjusted to what your skin can safely manage at that moment.

Microneedling may be suitable for
- Hyperpigmentation and post-acne marks
- Melasma, when microneedling is appropriate for the skin and treatment plan
- Acne scars and uneven texture
- Enlarged Pores
- Fine lines and early loss of firmness
- Skin that looks dull or feels less smooth

What happens during your appointment
We begin by looking at your skin, its current condition and what you want to improve. The skin is cleansed and prepared before microneedling begins. Needle depth and intensity can vary across the face because not every area needs the same approach.
After the treatment, we focus on calming hydration and barrier support. You will also receive straightforward aftercare advice, including which products to pause and when to restart them.

Results that develop over time
Your skin may look fresher once the initial redness settles, but microneedling is not an instant-fix treatment. Improvements in pigmentation, scars and texture develop gradually as the skin repairs and renews itself.
Some concerns may respond to one treatment, while acne scarring, persistent pigmentation or deeper textural changes usually need a course. We will tell you honestly what is realistic for your skin.

Recovery and aftercare
Redness, warmth, tightness and mild swelling can occur after microneedling. How long this lasts depends on the intensity of the treatment and how your skin responds.
For the first days, keep your routine simple. Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids, scrubs and other potentially irritating actives until the skin has settled. Protect the skin from sun exposure and use the SPF recommended for you. SAPEDA aftercare is selected only when it fits your skin and the stage of recovery.

When we would postpone treatment
We do not microneedle over active skin infections, open wounds or severely irritated skin. Treatment may also need to be postponed or adapted because of medication, a tendency to develop keloid scars, pregnancy, recent procedures or another medical or skin condition.
This is why suitability is assessed before treatment. When microneedling is not the right choice, we will say so and suggest a more appropriate route.

Frequently asked questions
Is microneedling painful?
You may feel pressure, warmth or a prickling sensation. Comfort varies by area and treatment depth, so we adjust the session rather than pushing the skin unnecessarily.
How much downtime should I expect?
Redness is common and may be accompanied by warmth, tightness or mild swelling. Recovery varies with treatment intensity and your skin’s response, so plan some flexibility after your appointment.
Can microneedling treat pigmentation?
Yes. We use microneedling for many forms of pigmentation, including post-acne marks and, where appropriate, melasma. The cause and depth of the pigment, your skin tone and the condition of your barrier guide the treatment plan.
Is microneedling suitable for darker skin tones?
It can be, provided the treatment is adjusted carefully. Darker skin is more prone to post-inflammatory pigmentation when it is overtreated, which is why controlled settings and appropriate aftercare matter.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends on the concern, its depth and how your skin responds. We assess progress as we go instead of selling every client the same course.
What should I use at home?
Keep the routine calm and uncomplicated while the skin recovers. We will tell you what to stop, what to restart and which SAPEDA products, if any, are useful for your aftercare.
Not sure if microneedling is right for you?
Book a skin consultation. We will look at your skin, discuss the result you want and tell you whether microneedling, another facial or a combination of treatments makes the most sense.
